does anyone have experience with these pumps, I’m looking to get a gyre now and I don’t know if it’s worth it to spend the extra money on the icecap? I’ve always used jebao wave makers and am happy with those.

I have used lots of jebao equipment and have had very few issues with any of it. however I bought a cp-25 a year or two ago. when they first launched them. it only worked about 6-8 months. not quite sure but less than a year.
it only cost I think 80 dollars or so. from amazon at the time. I tried getting warranty/replacement parts was basically told I had to pay 40$ for a new motor. well im not paying half the price of the pump to get it working again.
I bought the icecap when it launched last month at a slight price premium, but along with that premium I feel slightly better about a proper warranty and customer support stateside. vs the odd chinese/english site that handles jebao products.

however its worth nothing that I believe there has been 2-3 revisions of the jebao crossflow pumps since I got my original pump. and I haven't heard of nearly as many problems lately as compared to when quite a few people were buying them.

Thanks for your Input, what size tank do you have the icecap on? Do you really like it...I’m leaning towards spending the extra $60

I bought the icecap 1k for my im lagoon 25. I do like it a lot. but my verdict is its not worth the cash when the icecap 3k is only 20 dollars more and can be much more versatile.
the 1k only has its place in a niche application where space is at a premium. or at a hefty discount. (which is where I fell) I used the jebao crossflow pump-25 on the opposite end of my 6' 125 gallon tank to help with my OG gyre I had bought that pushes about 3/4ths of the tank.

Oh ok, i am only looking for my 32 cube .... weird that the next model is only a little more expensive.....guess I better check on the flow though, could be too high on lowest setting.

Almost pushing be to go with the jebao because of the slight difference lol

well then I would actually use the 1k or ask around and see who else has put a gyre in their biocube. My CP-25 was originally bought for my 29 biocube but I only had it in the tank for a few days as I couldn't get the mixture of placement /speed correct. where I wanted it either it wouldn't push enough water to where I felt it needed to be or it created sandstorms in the tank. also for whatever reason it constantly was sucking air from the surface and blasting it through the tank. I ended up putting my pair of jebao rw-4? (they keep renaming the same model) back in and ended up moving the CP-25 to the large tank.

I got a crossflow as a Christmas gift from one of our members and I've been running it for over a year with no issues. I have yet to even take it out of the tank for cleaning and it is still working great. I have no experience with the icecap to compare it to, but all my flow in the 90 is jebao and I have been happy with all of them. I have an mp10 on another tank and actually may swap it for a spare jebao I have because I like them so much.

I have a CP-40 in my tank as the only flow with return has been rock solid since I bought it. It's only been 4 1/2 months but no flow loss etc, cleaned once a few months ago just cause I was doing a full tank cleaning.

I have the icecap 1K in a 15g Nano and its absolutely amazing. It’s replaced my MP10 which had too narrow of a flow stream for me in my small tank.

I considered the Jebao briefly, but I have had bad luck and durability issues with every jebao product I’ve ever had. Just my experience.

Ok so small tank, do you have it turned down all the way and only using half of the blade? Weird there is nothing on YouTube about it yet but I’m now leaning towards the 1k

I am thinking about running jebao gyre on my 75 mixed reef. does anyone recommend a certain one. im trying to decide how much flow I need. I can either get 2 cp25 or 1 cp40 or 2 cp40. just not sure yet.

Just replaced 2 Hydor's in my 35 gallon with the 1k Icecap....running it vertically (alternating gyre +/- 40%) and loving it so far. Some adjusting for my frogspawn but most the coral is looking happier than ever. And it is nearly invisible compared to the old setup (in my profile picture).

see it in action!
