I had a leak in my sump, so I turned off my Jebao DCT-6000 so I could drain it. I decided to clean it all up but when I tried to turn it back on, a few days later, it did not work. I've got green lights on the controller and power box. I pulled it apart and cleaned everything by hand. The impeller turns, when pushed, no problem.

Anyone have any other ideas? Seems odd to me that it would just die from being turned off and I'd rather find a simple fix than replace it.

Keep trying by turning it on and off some more, my DCS-2000 did the same thing after cleaning it one time. Took about 10 or so on/off cycles before it started working again. Not sure if it was a fluke or what actually fixed it. Maybe there is also a way to reset the control box but as you know, no such instructions would be in the manual.

I tried several times yesterday and another 15-20 this morning. Nothing yet. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to just buy the controller replacement, as that seems like the likely culprit at this point (even though it lights up).

Definitely take it apart and clean it really good......ALL the nooks and crannies.

But I have to tell you that this seems to be the main way that return pumps die.....they work until you shut em off "for the last time". This is why I always (since mine went this way...sometimes the lesson has to be learned the hard way) recommend having a spare return pump on-hand.

I am actually running the main tank fallow (treating fish for Ich in QT), so fortunately I've got time. I drained the sump and just have the DT going for now.

I just found a controller on eBay for $14 so I'm going to try that. Replacing that worked for one of my Jebao circulation pumps that I thought had died, so maybe I will get some luck there.

Nice.
As a fellow jebao dc owner, I'd like to know if it works out.
