I would like some feedback on this pump ,only for return pump for my sump, I plan to try it on my new 80 gal display and 40 gal sump.I don`t have a lot of money for expensive pumps.I would like to know, how reliable they are and if it would be big enough for my new system, .
Thanks KJ

I've owned about 6 of them with no issues. I just bought a 4000 for a new tank.

You basically find with Jebao products that most will last about a year with some going much longer if you stay up on maintenance. They fail most frequently when the shaft and the bearing fuse or get gummed up or if a controller goes out. I have two power heads (RW-8) and my skimmer is driven by one of the dct pumps. The pump in the skimmer failed after 2 months but my lfs warrantied it no questions. I really like their products for the price and hope to get a return pump soon.

;)

I have found the return pump's and skimmer pump's are pretty solid. I have been running multiple for yrs and will continue to do so until a better replacement comes around.

The DCT's are a nice return pump.

This. Mine has been going strong now for just about 2 years. Although it's super quite I would hear a faint whine from the pump when it was dirty and needed to be cleaned, usually around 4 months. I just clean it now every 3 months.

I have had that pump for 3 to 4 years now, I got it when it was first brought out and it still going today no problems. I have only cleaned it 2 or 3 times and and every time it only had a light film on the Impeller and pump where the Mag spins. I only run mine at 4 of 8 which is supposed to be 80 %, as lowest setting is 65%. These and almost all DC pumps should not be used as a pressure pump as it will burn out. If it does not say that it is pressure rated then do not use it for Skimmers ( not talking about internal pump or use but as one to drive a Beckett or LifeReef type of Skimmer ) or it will shorten it's life drastically. Pressure rated DC pumps are big bucks. I don't know if you require the 6000, after I started to run it I wish I would have went with the 4000 as it is smaller and takes up less space.
