Hello all, newbie here!

I have searched around but I can't seem to find a good answer.

I have bought a 130L /34 gallon all in one tank with the sump behind.

I'm planning to buy a jebao dosing pump for it, and obviously I want a clean and nice installation, so I basically want to mount the dosingpump in the stand under the tank. And jebao states 1.5m of lift height with the pumps.

Question is:

Does it also have enough pressure to "lift" the dosing up in the tank? Or is it only possible to suck 1.5m from the tank?

I would hang the pump as high up in the stand as possible, and it would probably need to push the dosing media 50-60cm / 20-30 inches.
And suck from the bottom of the stand, probably another 30 inches, can't measure exactly since I'm away..

What do you think, Possible?
Is there a better suitable other brand pump for this?

Thanks!

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

With a peristaltic pump like this, it doesn't matter if the height is above or below the pump. Add up the height above and below for a total lift height. It looks like you might be at the edge of where it would work.

Thank you.

Just as I suspected, but I tought it's safer to ask as I have never dealt with these type of pumps before.

I took the measures roughly from what I remember, will do a real measure up tomorrow.

Maybe it's possible to put an small checkvalve on the hose to deal with any undertow/suckback whatever you call it if there is an malfunction?

Is it ok to dump the dos-media in the sump before the returnpump?

I dose kalk and 2 part right into my return pump section. I feel that is the best way to do it.
