Has anyone used the Jebao DP-4 Auto Dosing Pump? I'm considering getting one. It would be my first pump. I'd love to hear if anyone has any experience with them. I recently bought the Jebao DC-9000 return pump and love it.

I saw the surge of people buying them when they first came out. I would like to hear now how they've been holding up.

They also recently released a "slave" 4-channel dosing pump on fish-street. It's $10 less than the controllable one... hmm..

but, let's hear your experiences!

I've been running one for about 2 months. It's a pain to program, but other than that it works fine for now. In the long run? Who knows.

I've posted on another forum with the same question. I'm also looking to purchase this doser. Replies were very positive. Mainly ease of programming, accuracy and reliability. Several users were into their 6th month running.
Drives me crazy that you'll get tons of reviews for the first couple weeks, than the talk stops :(

I agree a pain in butt to program and to calibrate but once you get it setup up it does really well especially for the 120-140 dollar range.

I got my from a guy on r2r for $100 but on Fish street that is what it was listed at when it first came out.

I have been running one for about 8 months now. No problems with it at all. I thought it was easy to set up and easy to make adjustments. I bought a second one for my other tank and its been running for a month now with no problems. For the price I think you can't go wrong. I have been running Jebao powerheads and return pumps for over a year as well with no problems.

I ordered one a couple weeks ago, have tell the 24th to return it and I might. Seems to be off 1mL when you select 1mL, it produces 2mL. I could obviously just dilute my 2 part but I wanted something with a little more accuracy, I dont think it was asking for much. Calibration seems pointless. It "was" calibrated the same to when I calibrated it before I set the unit up.

I really found no issues programming it. In fact I found it very simple and easy. Haven't had any issue with it for a few months now. Not sure you can beat it price wise, does what it needs to do.

After using this pump for a while I think my biggest complaint is the location of the screen and controls on it to be honest. I think I'd much rather have a 3 pump unit with a front mounted screen and controls than 4 pumps and top mounted controls. This realization coming after I'm trying to plan a new build and can't find a good location to mount it in a stand and still access/see what I'm doing. Small petty complaint I know but just look at your location and application before pulling the trigger.

I got mine today, my first dosing pump. Are the heads kind of noisy? Sounds like plastic on plastic grinding. Pump #2 and #4 didn't work. The motor turned but the head sat still. I pulled the head off and moved the crease in the tube and now they work. But seems very shady that the motor shaft is just wedged between the plastic wheels. Is that how it should be?

Don't know if u needed 2 or 3 + heads but the two head unit has controls on the front . I can hand dose the c / mag / etc . It is what I plan to do

Oh really? I honestly just went straight for the 4 head model. I could probably do the same in my small tank. But yes front control would work so much better. I guess most if not all 4 heads have top control because of space. I've adapted to the top control for my current build, and like I said it's really a petty complaint, but if I were to build another setup I would change it up and probably go 2-3 head.

To an earlier point mine does seem loud, but this is my first dosing pump so I really can't compare it to anything else. I can always tell when it kicks on though.

I think the model is a dp-2 75.00 . I don't see it as nit picking at all. I want what I want. No sense in compromising. U can end up with too much equipment in the closet collecting dust .
Some pumps can be quieter than others.
Most pumps like the BM , Eshopps , Jebao, Koemer? R noisy. I programmed to run when I wasnt home in the morning when ph was lowest .
Didn't see a point in doing a bunch of cycles a day.
It just wears the pumps n heads n the tubing quicker.
Again the noise level is normal ..
