I agree with most of this. I'm not sure on the noise and durability because that is speculation for this line. Some of their stuff is less durable and some is very durable. Time will tell.

Take the DMP40 knock off wet side, gently shake it. It floats. The MP does not.

I received a US plug and didn't need any adapter. I can take a picture of the power supply tomorrow. I recommend the shop I used in previous comments.

I have heard people towards the East Coast say a little higher shipping prices. I'm in Utah so not to far from the West Coast.

They are the OEM for Waterbox, IIRC. If you contact them directly, they do single tanks.

I would stay far away from them. I used this same seller. I put in order in and paid for it. $2709. They told me my tank was in production. I kept asking for updates and they would give me an excuse every time. Kept giving me false lead times. Eventually they told me they never even started it… after 2 months! Eventually they did refund me but delayed it… was so scared I got scammed

Service - naturally it may not be as easy to get Jebao on the phone, that being said, after the Aperture acquisition I am not sure that Ecotech support is so stellar anymore either, but definitely would expect ecotech to be superior there.

Longevity - we all have gotten used to placing vortech wet-sides somewhat regularly, and keep in mind that many have had to do bearing replacements on the dry sides, so though Vortechs are great, they were not immortal either.

I know there is some controversy here about the Ecotech Patent dated 2006, and I am no patent lawyer, but the idea for wetside/dryside magnetically coupled powerheads was patented in '69 and ecotech ran with that idea to make their 2006 patent which I think is good for 20 years (assuming their modifications to it do not reset that 20 year clock). It is discussed here on R2R with patent references back in 2019.

I am here for this exact reason. Ecotech...whatever you want to call it now has really gone downhill in terms of customer service. I've had some good experiences but waited for months to get a part on their online store and it doesnt work and now they say I have to send my entire light in. Long story short - coral and tank health declined due to the changes in the uncontrollable light (tried to fix this by ordering a part - but the part doesnt work) instead of sending me the new small part they want me to send in the entire light. Not an option unless I can order a (hopefully unneeded) backup light for hundreds more dollars.

In the past year I've cleaned my mp10 maybe 3 times...three different ceramic shafts just crumbled like they were made of sugar. Either fix the problems you know you have, or deal with the consequences. Build quality seems to be going down (despite the fact these issues arent new) and unfortunately they seem less willing to stand behind their product. (In the end, they did replace the wetside - but I bought a kessil light because I certainly wasnt going to buy another radion after being given the run around)

Kessil light looks better, easier to setup and adjust, and SPS color and growith has exploded since making the change.
