Jebao? Or do I gotta spend more?

A few years ago I was looking for a freshwater pump I could adjust and was told to stay away from Jebao at all costs.

Is the same still true? I can’t justify spending $215-$300 on a return pump for a 40g breeder. I was gonna get a 568gph or 600gph pump and just use a ball valve.

I run jebao for 1 1/2 years no problems with regular cleaning!

If it were my tank I would use an eheim 1262 or a danner mag drive, likely a size 5 or 7. This assumes your sump is under the tank, not in the basement.

I have 7 jebao products. None have given me any problems.
Those 7 come close to the price of a single MP60.

Same one I have never caused a problem and has all functions I need.

Their DC return pumps are rock solid, reliable and quiet. Their wave makers, not so good

I bought a Jebao return pump to use on my water storage system in the basement thinking it would be easy to replace when it died. That was 4 years ago. It has run non-stop since then. No issues whatsoever. The build quality seems slower than some other pumps I've used over the years but it's still ticking - so no complaints here.

I have been using Jebao for both wavemaker and the return pump for the last 12 months, no issues at all, controllers has options to tune manually the flow and the wavemaker has some modes to play as well. Not as fancy as other options but does the job in my 40gal breeder.

Power heads go with the ow series Jebao for return I would go danner mag.

Danner mag return pumps are virtually bullet proof. Will last a decade or longer easily.

As others have said, jebao is fine. I run a jebao return pump and 5 jebao waves makers. I bought them all at various times as replacements for older equipment and I’ve yet to have a failure with units ranging in age from 6months to 3 years old if you can believe it. The way I look at it, even if they do fail prematurely, you can buy like 3 or 4 of them for the price of a single premium pump.

In my experience about 18months, I have owned several and they all seem to die around the 18 month mark.

I’ve run a jebao dct 8000 for 4.5 years without any issues. I bought a backup that hasn’t even left the box. I think I paid $60 or $70 for it.
