Jebao return pumps

I've been running a Jebao DCP 10000 on my 90 for a little over a month. Its dead silent, moves a ton of water, and is currently only running at 18watts. I will eventually buy a more reliable pump and keep the Jebao as a spare, however so far I'm very satisfied. I even switched over from a single durso overflow to a herbie overflow recently, which is a night and day difference with virtually no water noise. The only sound that is barely noticable is from my skimmer.

Bwwn using the return with no issues at all. My experience I had ussues with the more expensive ones and then you really get ticked. I think just as good as the more expensive.

I don't think many here said they wouldn't work. A Yugo or Pinto will also get you to the store to buy a gallon of milk - just as much as a horse and buggy. In my experience with my DCT 15000 I can say without a doubt the quality is not the same as the Neptune Cor. Body on the Jebao is hostess cupcake holder paper thing compared to the Neptune/Cor's thick plastic body.

But yes, the Jebao's do move water and are quiet. Then again so is my Cor. One year in to running it - so far so good. I can't see into the future though so time will tell.

Have the largest model return pump running my 400g reef for about 4 years after a recommendation from a tank building company. Cleaned it once (shameful I know), very powerful and reliable. Much better than my previous 1262 a.c. ehiems. I would thoroughly recommend.
Power heads are also very very powerful, not quite as reliable, replaced one of two so far. But I've also had to replace my gyre once.

If your worried. Buy two and run in parallel. Or keep as a spare. Tbh all the earlier dc pumps look exactly the same.

I’ve been running a DCT-4000 in my RSR 250 for 17 months now, only cleaned it once to date, dead silent and so far going well. This is my first SW tank so obviously I can’t comment on longevity beyond that.

In Australia they are branded as Torque in case any other Aussie’s see the post and want to comment.

Using 2 of the return pumps on my 110g. 12000/15000 both are silent, easily controlled and never yet had an issue. Cleaned once in 12 months. Also using the 2000 return and sw2 wave maker on my nano. also so far so good (3months)

They are made in China but as a previous poster noted they have been through some improvement since they first arrived. China made goods have come along way in recent times to be fair. If have no problem running these pumps on any system I had. For the price you can't beat them. So far

This discussion sounds a lot like ones involving led fixtures. There is definitely a mentality that if it costs more it must be superior quality or something along those lines. With cars it is mostly about bragging rights and not mechanical quality, in fact in my experience some of the more expensive cars have given me my biggest problems. I could buy what ever I want but I tend to focus on value for my money, so far it has worked.

I have a dcp-5000 running for over 1.5 years, no issue whatsoever. Before this I had a dcs pump, which runs with a high pitched whine.
I think mechanically, this pump design is mature/stable. I think there is a newer version that has added features to the controller only, like running it like a wavemaker. good for use in closed loop. I can do the same when I clean the pump and hook it up to RN-1 controller. The pump does the random, pulse and wave modes, but does not do the reverse mode.

I’ve been running one going on 8 years but it’s not on my primary. I would possibly consider one as my primary in the future as an option since it’s not given me any issues.

Have a DCP 6500. Been running since Sept of 2017. Can’t even hear it and it hasn’t given me a problem at all. You can buy a box that allows it to be controlled by the Apex. Works really well.

I use them on all of my tanks. Never had a problem with them.

Make sure none of the connections get wet of you will run into trouble connecting power.

I am running a DCT-4000 and a DCT-6000 both purchased in November of 2015, the 4000 is occasionally used for transfer/mixing.
The 6000 has been running at 90% pretty much 24/7, I downsized late last year it now runs at 70% 24/7 in my mixing station.
Had to replace the impeller on the 4000 this year, I let it sit and dry out with saltwater in it....(OOPS)
The 6000 has had nothing done to it, I cleaned it out when I started using it for mixing but haven't touched it except for that...
Wish Jebao had one that would work in a closed loop setup...

I have the DCT and DCP versions small and large. They are good pumps. That said, all pumps go bad. I finally went with a dual return pump system so if one goes bad my apex tells me and I just replace it while the other is running.

Jebao pumps are silent (use the silicone hose to connect) and work great in my opinion...

I have the DCP 8000, running for about 5 weeks. So far so good. Have you seen some of the other pumps that are made by other companies? looks very similar to Jebao but more expensive. I figure I'd try it since my tank is cycling and if it breaks I'll buy more reliable one.

Does anyone have the newest model the dcq? Where are you guys buying them from?

DCQ yes. for where...fish street or amazon. I like amazon for the quick shipping... if you use wikibuy you can find the best price around but may be slow shipping.

I can’t seem to find the dimensions of the pumps. Anyone point me in the right direction?
