I just got 2 of these pumps and I’ve got an issue right off the bat.

Scenario 1
Pump/controller # 1 - I set as master
Pump/controller # 2 - I set as slave
pump # 1 (the master pump) keeps malfunctioning after about 10-15 min of use (pump is stalling and not going on/off as it should. Controller displaying issue)

Scenario 2
I kept all wiring the same and just switched the master/slave such that
Pump/controller # 1 - I set as slave
Pump/controller # 2 - I set as master
Pump/controller 1 are now functioning just fine and pump/controller # 2 is having the issues.

Conclusion
The master setting is causing the master pump/controller to malfunction. The same pump/controller functions just fine as slave.

Anyone have a similar issue? Possible solution? I’ve already written the company I got it from asking for help but haven’t heard back yet.

Sorry but don't hold your breath for a response from Jebao. :(
One of the big reasons I don't endorse their products anymore.

I hadn’t banked on it lol. I actually wrote to the company I got it from. They’ve been helpful in the past helping me choose items but I’m getting the silent treatment on issues it appears. Lovely

did You ever figure out the issue with running the sow-8’s as master and slave controlled. I have 1 and have been reasonably happy but am needing to replace a power head opposite side of the tank and wanted to pick up a second jabeo but am confused on whether they can be ran to communicate with each other or not.

Sort of. The company I got it from wrote back and said it’s actually a very common issue. The pumps communicate via wifi and if there’s an interruption in the signal, it malfunctions. Coincidentally, wifi signals can be greatly effected by water. The suggestion was to run them individually which defeats the whole purpose of the feature. Lovely. I put the controllers as far from the tank as the cords allowed and it was still useless. I like the pumps for the versatility in power and flow, just don’t count on the synch feature
