Hey guys,

I want to buy new wavemakers soon and this time I wanna try jebao.

Heard some good things about the SOW pumps but now there are these SDW pumps, i like their design wich makes them less obvious but the most important thing for me is noise,

So can anyone tell me if the noise they make the same as the SOW pumps or is it better or louder?

Thnx!

@LRT just hooked one up.

I went with these in my shroom lagoon.
I think these are the newest version and super quiet (QP) Tbh I cant hear mine operating. Tons of control and different modes and a timer for night and feed mode.
Only down side is electrical cord is in tank but I hide mine in rock work.

I use those pumps as well... mine I could hear a little for about a week until they broke in and now are dead silent. Better choice than the Jebao pumps just for the longer warranty and customer support from Logan at Reefbreeders.

So far I'm loving these pumps. I have 2xQP5 in my shallow water 80 turned all the down and may be to much flow for my shrooms. These little pumps are super powerful and quiet.

Thnx for the reactions but those pumps are not available in my country unfortunately.

So still hoping for some feedback on the jebao SDW and SOW

The SOW wavemakers are hinged and can be angled, to direct flow where you want it.... the SDW doesn't have any hinges and can't be angled. It appears to be similar to the SLW series, although the SLW series includes an extra angled pc that can be installed between the magnet and motor that allows you to angle the SLW to some extent. I'm not sure if the SDW models include this pc or not.

It appears the SOW line has been updated to the MOW (smart) series now, which includes wifi/app control and a new LCD controller. The SLW series has been updated to the MLW (smart) series now too.

for instance, the SOW-8 was the standard model, then they came out with the SOW-8M which included wifi/app control.
Now there is a MOW-9 model that seems identical that now includes the wifi/app control and the new LCD smart controller.

What I'm not sure about is whether you can have a new MOW-9 model, connected through the app, and set as Master, while having one of the older SOW models functioning as a slave.... and controlling both through the app.
