Ever since I've got my new tank I've wanted to use the WP-40 on it but like you all know that thing puts out some crazy waves. I was checking out the WP 10 but I'm not a fan of the Suction cups so I came across this power supply that fish street is claiming will let you adjust the voltage making it possible to decrease the power. Here is a few pics of it. I know this can probably be bought in the states but I'm not sure if alot of people know about these. Instead of dropping the $60 on the WP10 I figured Id give it a shot. Took 6 days to be delivered from Hong Kong to Cleveland.

12V to 24V Power Supply for Jebao WP-40 Replacement Pump

From what I've read jebao delayed the release of tbe WP10 last month to change out the sucction cups for magnet mounts.

I received an email from them a few days ago. they said they are opening a warehouse in jersey and the 10 will be available wirh magnets

What size tank? The WP-40 physically is a pretty big pump and takes up some real estate. I tried one in my 5 foot long 100G mixed reef and did not like its size and its massive flows even with the newer version controller set down to 50%. I sold the 40 and used two WP-25's instead and am very happy with the flows without havng to reduce them further with an add on power supply.

I have posted photos of the WP-40, Evolutions 1400/1500, WP-25 and Evo Nano 240/425 all side by side as well as power consumption figures for them several times on al the reef forums, a search should bring them up.

I want to buy the wp 40 but I'm afraid it would be too much, I have a 6 foot long 180G. What do you guys think? Is it too big for my tank?

Why not use the wp-25 then? If you think the 40 is gonna be too big why drop to the 10...
