Hello im currently trying to upgrade to a 125 from a 60 gal saw these online was wondering if anyone has an opinion on the quality of these also how many to get for a 125 reef and what size i know flow is like the hardest question to answer lol

Been running RW -15 in 6ft 125 gallon tank for almost a year. This wavemaker is worth the price. Buy it from US Dealer that will honor the warranty vs having to deal with China. We do not run the power over 4 because there is so much water movement. You could get away with smaller size and put one at each end of the tank depending on how much movement you want.

I run two wp10s on my 54 gallon. I love them the quality and easy to control. Set up and the ability to move or position them is a big plus. For your tank I'll go with the RW version they are newer and more easy on the eye. If u go with the WP version get the 40's you'll be happy.

so the rw-15 will create that standing wave pattern thing everyone is looking for in a 6ft 125 how bout deadspots etcetc also whats the difference in the wp and the rw sorry for all the questions but thanx a ton for the info :-)

Yea they will. Now the difference all i can say is the RW is like a newer generation and looks more cool i guess. And the wp is cool too as far as looks but mine are small and the bigger ones are noticeable. But u cant beat the price or quality.

Was wondering how many of the rw15 for a 125 gal reef with every kind of coral i can fit in it lol also placement of them any one got a similar setup

I have 2 RW -15S in a 150g 48×30×24. I have them on alternative patterns to create a wave like effect from the ocean. They are only kept on the 2nd setting of power as anything above that starts blowing things off my rocks!

Does this create that standing wave pattern?

Thanx for the input :-)

would definitely run 2. I would also put some cheap powerhead about every 2 feet behind your rocks. these don't need to be high powered, theyre just there to prevent dead spots and give a bit more random flow. in my 75 I had 2 behind my rocks and a single rw8 and my 2 small ones were only like 200gph magnet mount powerheads. don't even think they were a brand name lol.

one of the differences with the RW series is the ability for them to sync wirelessly so they actually work together to create the perfect waves.

In my 210 I have an RW-20 at 80% on a short double wave. (meaning both ends of the tank crest at the same time and the center is opposite) Then I have an RW-15 and two tunzes that all work to make random flow at 70%. SPS dominated tank. Just like a skimmer, it never hurts to have more than you need and turn it down. I'd recommend two RW-15's. Many more options with two even if you only use them at 50%.

Even at 80% i have salt creep around the rim of my tank. With my single RW-15 I can make a wave that will splash over the rim of the tank if you want to.

.... how come your sig is clickable and mines not :-(

I run two RW-8s in my 125 gallon tank. they do a fantastic job and you can set them up in the standing or alternating wave pattern. Pretty happy with them so far. I totally agree with the comment about small powerheads behind the rocks for additional water movement.

I too like theat idea and will use some smaller ones i have on hand already for that purpose
