If you buy one through Amazon then you don’t need to worry about the Chinese customer service. Amazon will issue a replacement under warranty.

I received a reply from my email to Jebao and the newest series out are the SOW.

Look, buy what you can afford. I've had some do fine, and some didn't survive the 8 gallon beast. I ALWAYS keep spare equipment. Look at keeping a good 2nd hand one in your closet. To be truthful, I use 2nd hand as primary equipment and have had no issues.

You can always shop at fish-street dot com. They also supply replacement parts. The replacement part thing is great in regards to cleaning. I typically take a toothbrush to the motors but switch out the outer housing and impeller while letting the dirty parts soak in vinegar. Fwiw I've been using the same pp-4s for nearly 3 years.
