So untill I buy my VorTechs (most likely Black Friday if they go on sale) I am going to use the Jebao WP10 I already have. I know I will need a second powere head for good flow. My question is, for a 40B (36"x18"x16") would a WP10 and a RW4 be enough flow for a mixed reef? At full power I believe this gives the tank 40x-45x flow rate. I also have a Hydor Koralia Nano 425 I can put on the back wall for a little extra flow if need be. I could go with another WP10 but the RW4 look a little nicer and ive read they have more controllable flow speed.

Thats what I thouht. I thought about buying 2 but dont want to spend the extra money since I will be upgrading in exactly 6 months,

Sooooo my WP10 doesn't work [emoji30][emoji30]. Should I get 2 RW4s and keep em almost all the way up if not all the way or 2 RW8s and keep em at half power? I'm thinking the RW8s since they're only 7$ more each.

i had an wp10 and a rw4 in mine.... coupled with the return flow was pretty good, dead spots weren't too concerning...but the rw4 only survived a month... replaced both with mp10s sooooo much happier.... i would just get a used mp10 to replace the wp and you will be halfway to your goal

Since your primary concern is flow and not looks go with two 8's for now, I think you are going to find that you have to keep them dialed way down.

I have a 150 it's beast. Hides on the back wall and pushes a ton of water. Couldn't be happier.

I have read a lot of good reviews, but I have also seen a lot of reviews saying the impellers are breaking then reassembly sucks and the customer service isnt good either. Just not worth the risk at this point. Maybe when I upgrade years down the road the 150 will be perfected.

If stuff breaking it's because people are not good at working on them. I've had mine apart 3 times now and cleaned. No issues. I also got a tiny cut in my cord. Sent coralvue a email and had a whole new motor assembly with cord at my door 4 days later.
