I have purchased WP40 about 1year ago and recently it has stopped working. I am unable to find any information on how to fix it.
The controller appeared functional usually but as soon as i plug in the powerhead cord (3 prong with water proof protective mechanism), the LED indicators went off immediately. The propeller is spinning in fraction of second (0.1-2 sec) every 1-2 second and it is non-functional. In addition, the power indicator green light on the power adapter is blinking as well as soon as I plug in the powerhead cord. I have tried to clean to power head and the propeller and event dip it in 12/ vinegar and 1/2 water solution for a period of time, and it does not help. I am currently using my old power heads and this is not enough for my tank.

Does anybody else has the same issues and have an idea on how to fix this? I have emailed the
manufacturer... in China... chances of hearing back from them probably is low :squigglemouth:

Any help would be appreciated!
Heng Chai.

I am ordering another one and will cross test the components to identify the faulty part and will let you know which part to replace.... Probably the whole thing lol! That's made in China wuality for ya:squigglemouth:

Sounds like a bad driver. The actual unit that goes into the water takes command from the controller as well as power.

If you bought it from fish-street, they will mail you another one for a nominal fee, as I understand it.

Ok just received the replacement yesterday and cross-checked the components. It appears that the power head is the problem he controller is fine and I am still using the old controller.

Fish-Street will send you a new motor for $30. Same thing happened with mine and I emailed them, just keep the eimpellor and the nose cone because they just send you the motor.

Thanks DFW and Jason for the info! Will definitely check it out! Maybe I can still return the new wave maker :-)

I'm currently having this same issue. Fish-street sux at working with its customers. I ordered a replacement pump/motor from them and they sent me a defective one. My controller lights just blink on and off when I hook it up to the new motor/pump. I have 2 setups and both running wp-40's I tested the controller after fish-street told me that the problem was the controller. When I checked the motor with my other controller it did the same thing. The controller just blinked on and off. I replied to fish-street and they insisted on me buying a controller from them. I told them the motor/pump they sent me was obviously defective and I was requesting a replacement. They then asked me to return pump all the way to Hong Kong at my expense. I was'nt about to pay to get it across the world. If they sent me a defective product they should cover the shipping which they would not. Obviously these guys don't want to cooperate and I don't have time to be playing the cat and mouse vial emails with these guys. I opened up a claim with pay pal and got all my money back. For those people that recommend Fish-street be cautious these guys will attempt to give you the runaround.
