I thinking about getting a wp40 for my 120 is one enuff or 2 be better or would it be best to get wp60. And my tank is not reef ready I use a hob overflow that has a aqua lifter will their be to much of a wave in the tank for it? And how much should I drop the water level its at about a 1/2 inch from the top?

What are the dimensions of your tank? Those pumps push a lot of flow, you will be surprised. I have a 40 on my 220 but also have another 1000gph pump on the other side of my tank and for now with a mostly zoa dominate tank it's plenty of flow for me now. I run it on wave 1 and if it's turned up at full power the wave will come out of the tank. The good thing about the new controllers is that there are 3 different intensity settings.

I purchased two of the new WP-40's fro my 125g (60x24x20) though have only one installed so far running at 75% W3. A lot of water movement and just need to trim some Corals back to fit the second one in place.

Cheers, Todd

I'd recommend a pair instead of just one. I can't help with your questions about your overflow.

I would deff get 2 then. You can always turn down the flow if it's to much. Not sure about how much water you should take out. It will be a trial and error type of thing, u will just have to find that sweet spot on how much of a wave they produce.

I have 3 in 48x26x20 tank 2 run all the time at 100% wave mode. With my rimless they just about splash out. 3rd one is at 50% and only comes on when I clean up the fish poop from the bottom. My tank is sand less so no need for me to worry about sand storms.

Well I just ordered 1 wp40 and it will be here Saturday I could not wait got 2 day shiping lol I will post on how it goes

I have 2 in my 120 and its amazing i have one on W1 and one on ELSE. When i want to get crazy i put em both on W1

I have 2 on my 220 and 3 triton 5 return pumps one pump runs 2 of the returns on the back of the tank and one pump for each return on the side of my tank flow is amazing on 40 is set w1 power 3 knob is about 75% the other is else mode and set about the same no problem with waves coming out but can see them just looking..I would recommend 2 but aim them towards the top and keep them about mid tank watch the middle of the tank it will be the most turbulent

I also have a wp 40 on w1 in a 60 gal cube but I'm going to switch to 2 wp25s and a wp10.

I have a wp40. Mp40 and a wp25 in my 120g. The wp25 shoots along the back wall to hit dead spots behind my rocks. There's a lot of flow.

All I got to say wow this power head is crazy strong I took a video of my tank before I added the wp40 and after I get it tuned in I will take another video and show the deference
