So about a year ago I made a wave box for a vortech MP40. Well I've been wanting to use me 2 mp40's on ecosmart not just one of them. So I finally got around to buy some acrylic and making the box.

Still need to torch the corners to clean up the sides.
Here's a quick little vid of it in action

Also this is a quick vid after I started to see a wave. I have fine tuned it to get atleast a 2" wave possibly more. I started over filling my sump with the extra displaced water.

I'm dumb....what's a wave box for?

Waveboxs work by displacing water in an aquarium. Here's how it works. The box is sealed with no way for water to get in except for the opening at the bottom were the pump pumps water out of, also the top can be left open (the top needs to be sitting above the water line so water can't spill inside the box). When u put the box in the water it will fill through the pump opening. When u turn the pump turns on it cause water to b forced out of the box causing the water level in the box to b lower then the tank water level. Then when the pump turns off the box fills with water again. When u do this at the right speed u cause the water to b displaced that u get a rocking motion in the aquarium.
Now u ask, why do u want the rocking back and forth motion?
Because that rocking effects every square inch of water in your aquarium. With eliminates dead zones were normal pumps aren't creating flow. The wave motion helps eliminate detritus build up in those dead zones.
