Jeff's 150 Build - The Salt Box

Awesome build. What a great thread. I've been slowly working on my 240 gallon build and this just motivated to do some work today. Might also start a thread myself. Have you skinned your stand yet?

I have not skinned it yet. Thanks for the encouragement man, sincerely!

I'll be looking for your thread. [emoji6]

Local (Knoxville) fabricator, Steve Irons of Alloy Fabrications Company. They build very high end NQA1 pressure vessels for my old company, and did me a favor. [emoji3]

Just read thru
Nice job sir it's seriously an amazing build loved every second of it thanks for all the info and for a good read

Harvesting the chaeto from my refugium today. It's kinda sad tossing it out, as it's full of hundreds of amphipods. But, it's also full of bristle worms and planarians too.

I don't think the Sapphire damsel ate any flat worms. Moved it into the DT. Might try a six line in the fuge next, but if he doesn't eat flat worms someone will have to take him cause I don't want a six line in my display.

Bought a couple small pieces of LR today, to eventually mount some chalice on.

Before I had a tank, I used to hate all that blue I'd see in my LFS's - I would think 'how unnatural'. Now though, the last hour of my photo period is my favorite!

It's not throw back Thursday, but I Found this old JPG on my computer. I'm embarrassed to say how long I planned and CAD'd up my system, but, my system matches my plans to a t. [emoji2]

I used MicroStation for that model Ben. I was modeling my system for months when I should have been sleeping. LOL

Awesome build thread.
I have recently started reading build threads to get ideas on a build, I'd like to do. (Something in 150 -250 range )
Your thread has been a really good read, thank you.
Also waiting for both the finished skin on the stand and frag tank. I know they will well thought out.

Great shots, I like the bottles with the stoppers in them. By any chance to you know what there technical name of them are?

They are 2 liter borosilicate glass bottles, and #6 rubber stoppers. Don't know if they have a name, like a lab glassware name. I do know they run about $80.00 each!

Pyrex is a borosilicate name brand.

A "media" bottle perhaps. Sorry I don't know more.

SPS are doing well, in spite of some neglect lately, but I have lost a colony - a Highlighter Acropora colony. I bought it years ago, and probably mounted it too high. It just paled over the last month or so, and started loosing tissue. Algae took hold and I've removed all the dead branches now. I relocated some frags lower in the tank and hope to keep the species. Older frags I've made have bounced back, and have much more color down low, so I'm hopeful.

Anyway, it did leave a lot of choice open real estate, and, ought to make nice paperweight.

Removing some large monti cap colonies and selling off some LPS. Big changes coming. Trying to do some wholesale changes to get closer to where I wanted to be when starting - Acropora's mostly, perhaps even bare bottom.

Nice build! I can't wait to see some it when it is finished! I'm still anxiously awaiting my water parameters to be ready for fish and coral myself.

I hate it when my CO2 runs out! Alk drops - Ka Bam. I hate it even more when my CO2 supplier employs a new policy of no more same day refill service. Three days of dripping baking soda and manual CA dosing, but all is well now. (I hope)

Yikes! What an eventful collection of issues
