Hi all, looking for some help with setup of a jellyfish tank. I am setting one up with my son but would like to know a few more things while we are still in the first stages before we begin cycling.
We bought a second hand biorb halo 60l tank and it has led lights with remote, air pump and airstone, ceramic media, a small heater and 2 small submersible pumps.
So far we have made our own saltwater using distilled and added marine salt following instructions from an online post. We purchased the biorb marine kit and fitted the marine filter into the casing, added the airstone, the ceramic media, some glass pebbles to go over the media and the saltwater and it is ready to start cycling but nothing else has been added or done to it as yet.
Is there anything else, equipment wise, needed in the tank?
It says online that Jellies need constant moving water to stay afloat and that the biorbs filter system creates its own flow. Does anyone know if this will suffice or will i need the submersible pumps? Or something else to keep the water moving? Dont want them on the bottom of the tank but also dont want them to feel like they are inside a washing machine!
Also does anyone know if there is a difference in the biorb filters? E.g the original filter that you can buy and the marine filter in the marine conversion kits. Are they interchangeable? Read on some forums that the marine kits are a waste of money and not needed but i had already purchased it before coming across this! I will need to purchase more filters but now i am unsure what to buy.
If I have missed anything or anyone can share any tips that would be much appreciated.
Thanks
