Anyone ever had a jellyfish tank? I'm thinking of trying one. The tanks are expensive so I'm exploring my options on that part. I may try to make one.

I found this site.

I will tell you jellyfish are not hardy and really not suited for home aquariums. They are so delicate. I one time looked into it and a review I read really clicked for me (I have to very roughly paraphrase as I cannot find the review). The man had had tanks before and decided to get a jellyfish tank for his wife. They set it up, ordered the jellyfish, got the jellyfish, everything going great. Wife loved them, he loved them, super awesome. They had gotten the three pack of jellyfish. Then one died, they said oh well, we still have 2, no worries. Then another died. And then finally the last one perished. And this was over a few months. They thought about ordering more, but decided it was not worth it. I feel that last part, that I always remember clearly is key. But, I will say, that was them, for someone else this could be the opportunity of a lifetime. Just my .02

Yeah I definitely have a lot more research to do. I just want something different that not a lot of people have. I really would like a octopus but my tank is to small and I currently don't have the space for a larger tank

I went through both of these phases about a year ago. I know that the tanks need to be round edges otherwise the jellies will tear. And they also need very specific circulation. As far as octopi, I have spoke with a several people because I wanted one as well. You can get Pygmy octopus that is will be ok in 30 gallons. There are a couple others that are ok in a 50. The coolest being the mimic octopus. The Indonesian Mimic Octopus - YouTube

I have kept an octopus before & it was fantastic until it was rummaging around a rock & a hitchiker crab spooked it & caused it to squirt ink into the tank. Suffice to say I couldn't save him although the corals did love it.
