Looking to build a kreisel type tank for jellyfish, has anyone else done this or has experience with making rounded tanks? Id just imagine after seeing $700 jellyfish tanks that are 10 gallons or less and then people making sump refugium setups for $50 or less surely you can build a jellyfish tank of decent size (20 gallon or larger) for less then $700.

It just requires the right tools to work the acrylic.

So yes. You are correct.
You could speak to a local acrylic shop and draft the basic design yourself.

This question l have been wondering for awhile. Why does a jelly tank need to be round?

Years ago, while I was in middle school, I wanted jellyfish but I see the proves you did. So I hit Google and found an idea I never did. A person took a regular tank and used egg crate to round the corners. I'll see if I can find it again

Keep us updated if you decide to do it!

My kids love the jellyfish at the aquarium. I have considered setting one up, however, I would have to purchase it all as I have 0 experience in building something like that.

JellyfishArt is another jelly tank company with some cool variations on the shape.

I plan to build mine either next week or the week after as i will be modifying the design since i have a 20 gallon long and rather then making a bigger version of the 10 gallon design i may just make 2 seperate kreisels on each side and keep 2 different kinds of jellyfish.

Just cut some 5gallon buckets up or maybe even a 55gallon plastic drum. I know i can get them around here for less than 25 bucks. Put your pump on the outside of the cut bucket and cut a hole and install some mesh. It will take some dialing in but you can do it, and definitely less than 700.

You can also bend acrylic in the oven if you are careful!!
