Time for a new tank!! I am moving my planted tank (and going a bit bigger) to the basement, and putting in a harem tank in it's place. I am in the gathering stage now. I am really excited and this comes out how I envision it!

Deep Blue 30 shallow tank (24 x 24 x 12)
Bubble Magnus Curve 5
Tunze 6020 x2
AI Prime

I am leaning towards Black Ice or Snowflake. I also plan on a carpet anemone, bubble tips of some type/color, a few euphyllia and maybe some blasto's. I also want a sand sifting goby.

Trying to plan out the stand build and coming up with the best height for enjoyable viewing.

The Coral Reef Just hatched a batched of blacker ice and the parents are really nice. They should be ready by stocking time.

So I tried and believe I failed miserably to do a painted background that would set this tank apart. I have come up with a new plan and really hope it works the way I am envisioning it!

Here are a few pics of the first attempt, You be the judge!

It's even better in person! So excited!!!

Pretty sweet-looking 'nem!

I kind of like the background, but wouldn't have used the strong horizontal lines - just the sponge-painted corals and the blended depth-of-sea. I had considered doing something similar with Zoey's Reef; sponge-painting the background a midnight blue, shading into a Fiji-pink-sand at the bottom, and a silvery metallic blue shimmer at the top. Wound up cutting a black plastic trash bag to fit the back of the tank, and simply never notice the background at all.

Nice nem! I also found that I spent a lot of time thinking about background colors etc for my tank and then it really didn't become much of a focus later on...in fact it's all covered in coraline now lol.
