Just got my Radiant Wrasse, and he only comes out at night, near the end of my lighting schedule. I believe he is straight from Africa, does anyone know how long it takes for him to adjust to the daytime schedule?

Or do wrasses stay out all day like other fish once fully acclimated?

For the first few days, I thought he was dead, but he just sleeps in the sand.

definitely in agreement with those above. it often takes a little while for wrasses to fully acclimate to your tanks way of life.

Sounds like my current wrasse was. Hid in the sand for a day or two before coming out. He is now awake during daytime hours and has adjusted to feeding times after about a week. Give him some time to adjust and he should be fine :)

Yep, you got good advice here. Most all of my wrasses did the same thing... didn't see new additions (even after QT) for several days then they appear happy and healthy and ready to eat!
