Ayoooo Reefers !

quick question today. Just picked up some Jason Fox butt Krack zoanthids. I never cared for these before and I heard they can be difficult. Any suggestions on light and flow with these guys or any other care requirements you suggest? Thanks for the input !
Stay Reefing!

for Kraks, I find staring with lower light and slowly moving them higher until they seem happy, along with moderate flow. Enough to keep debris off, but not enough to blast them to oblivion lol

Are they hard to keep alive at all? I got a three head polyp but they are looking preety small and shrunken right now. Hopefully they bounce back ! It’s a beautiful zoa

They’re great corals and certainly can be grown into a beautiful colony, they’re just less forgiving than some Zoas. Just listen to them- if they remain shrunken, try giving them slightly less light and keep an eye on them :)

They're one of my favorites but also one of the most temperamental strains out there. I've had them on and off throughout the years before finding a 'bullet proof' strain a year or two ago.

They're extremely sensitive to alk swings and do best in low par (80-100 is where I keep mine). As @RedFrog211 mentioned moderate flow is preferable. I'll also add I've had the most sustained success with them when direct feeding with reefroids (or a similar product). The orange intensity and size will vary with conditions and they're prone to stalling.

Good luck, I hope they do well for you as they're absolutely stunning as a colony.
