I bought a jf fox flame from a guy by me before thanks giving. It had its green tips when I put in the tank. I didn't know at the time I had a bunch of problems with my tank. I have most every thing is coming down now. I have cheato and mangroves helping.

The flame already encrusted the whole plug and is growing awesomely ID just love to see it get its green tips back.
 
I love this piece. I had a really nice colony going before my tank issues. I'll have this piece back in my possession weds to start over again :)
 
In my experience it's common to lose the yellow tips as the frag encrusts. The yellow should be seen in the polyps as the coral encrusts. When the coral starts to grow upward is when the yellow returns to the tips.
 
Thanks I'll be looking for that. I will have to move the tank soon since I'm buying a house soon and moving out of my dad's house. 23 is a awesome time to be in this hobby!! Lots of years to play then!
 
Well here is the jf fox flame when I gave it burnt tips. In a ulns tank alk was at a 14

Nice,im plumbing frag tank today,my frags lost color in the tips because of being on the bottom of my tank
 
Nice peice that will look good once it encrust. You better get a tang to take care of that hair algae!!
