I am thinking of get a frag of the JF Jolt. It really is a nice coral, but looking at many of the seller's pics on R2F, it looks somewhat like an Orange Passion. I am not talking about photo-shopped corals from some vendors, but realistic photos for R2R reefers selling the coral.

I have the OP and love it. Wondering if getting another coral that is pretty similar worth it, especially one so expensive.

Orange Passion: Greenish yellow base with blue tips and orange polyps
JF Jolt: Greenish yellow base with blue tips and reddish-orange polyps.

Am I right about here?

While some difference, it doesn't seem significant. What are you experiences with the JF Jolt and OP?

Thanx Chaswood. What do you think since you have both?

For me, if you didn't label, i wouldn't have known which is which.
The jolt is definitely more blue, but honestly, the OP has better coloration under my 18K’ish spectrum. The jolt looks pretty cool under all blues but my eyes prefer fuller spectrum. You could get 2 high end colorful tenuis for the price of the jolt. The jolt, at the state is in right now, doesn’t make my top 5 of the tenuis in my tank.

Thanx Chaswood. I can see that the jolt has slightly more blue and slightly redder polyps. That made up my mind. My OP is good enough and I will save my money to buy a different coral.

I absolutely love the OP. Such a gorgeous coral under any light.

My jolt doesn’t have any red polyps, maybe an optimistic shade of brown under all blues.
I’ll be fragging some of my tenuis in a couple months if you’re interested.

I have 2 that I bought on live sales about a month apart over the summer. The other one has done almost nothing. The one in the pic has tripled from its original size. Both received similar par and flow, so I have no idea why one has grown and the other hasn’t.

I hope mine turns out like that. It’s just a blue tenuis with green polyps now. Fingers crossed
Do you mean pink polyps? Mine is baby blue with pink polyps under radium but it is tiny still.

Chaswood79 that chaswood is crazy . I thought it was a lps when I first saw it. It has more p/e then my Ora chips. Nice collection!
Jeff
It’s almost too fuzzy. The coloration on that thing is actually really nice but the PE camouflage’s it.

Chaswood79, do you have enough tenuis yet :) Looks like a nice collection, I hope you can grow them out and share a picture of all the colonies together, look forward to seeing them.

Agreed. Hoping you can also frag them. I want to be first on the list. :)
