I just recently received a small piece of JFox Jack-O-Lantern and im not having good luck with it, plus its my first lepto. It is starting to get a small white blotch almost like its bleaching, but I had it on the sand bed. I recently moved it to a spot where there it is about 90% shaded and im hoping not to lose it because this is a piece ive been wanting for years. Is there anything special to keeping these guys or should it have more light or almost no direct light? Its getting low flow just like the site said. I need help, and don't want to lose this beautiful coral.

I have mine on my sand bed but not shaded at all, and low flow. They are hardy in my experience but bleach quickly, however they get their color back very quick as well.

Seem to grow in any spot in my tank ? What's your Alk and Mg ? Could something be nipping at it ?

mine are in mid to high light with med flow. grows quickly, got stung once by a fallen acro and has recovered nicely.

Mag is 1400, Ca 450 range, All 8.5. Seems to be my tanks sweet spot for growth.

If your really concerned and have a trusted friend with a established tank take it them and let then baby sit it til you make the needed adjustments to your tank then when it grows out give a nice frag to your friend. People tend to change their tank parameters with their high end corals in it, its already having issue now your going to put it through another swing??? thats what i did till my tanks were where i needed them. Just one of many possible approaches to ensure you don't lose the coral. Hope it works no matter what you chose.

I have a 60g cube with AI SOL Blue over it. I keep mine on the sand but not shaded and it has grown well...

Have mine on sand bed with t5s par less then 100. Medium flow. It was also doing good in partial shade on sand bed. Good luck, it seems hearty so hopefully it comes back for you.

Well I moved it to more light and less flow and it seems to be doing alot better so im hopeful

mine doesnt care where it lives or what happens to it snails knock it over upside down and its happy happy happy....
Its a very tough coral

I'm having same issue with my jack o . I've moved it 5 times. All my leptos are fine except that one. I'll keep moving it I guess till I find a good location.
