After about 2.5 years away I'm coming back in with a less overwhelming system.

Going with a 90RR tank, 40B DIY sump, and DIY stand. I'm planning this to closely mirror my previous 90 setup with a few minor changes. Tank is purchased as is most of the equipment at this point. Starting the stand tomorrow.
Updates forthcoming.

Nice! Welcome back!

Just a little something as far as equipment.
Plan at the moment is to use a 40B for sump. I've been doing some collecting over the last couple of months and so far I have the following ready to go.
Spectrapure RODI
Aquaticlife booster
6x54 ATI Sunpower
SWC 160 Cone skimmer
Neptune Apex EL
MP40-QD
Jebao DCP-6500
And about 140 lbs of various sizes of BRS Reef Saver(way more then I can possibly use). I think that's it for now but I have some things on the Christmas list as well.

I'm planning on a heavy SPS system similar to what I had before. But I'll leave some room for some other stuff too. Not exactly sure how I'm going to handle flow yet. I'm either going with two MP-40's or only one and a Gyre(or equivalent) on the opposite side.

So had to change up the stand a bit.
I had the idea to rip the 2x4's to 3" to take the curve out and make a nice square edge. The trimming seemed to go fine, however when I assembled i noticed some of the boards were not completely square. I noticed it, but I guess didnt seem to pay it any mind. Well after assembly I noticed some left to right play in the stand. Turns out the ripping went worse then I thought. There was up to 1/8" difference in some of the flats. Turns out the saw blade on the borrowed table saw has some play in it. So I had to redo the top and bottom. This time with unadulterated 2x4's.
Lesson learned.
Final framing done and ready for primer. This time it's rock solid.

Manifold done
Thinking about picking up a can of Krylon and painting it black. Not sure yet. There will be about a 4inch piece below the water line and nobody sells black PVC around here.

I read that the Krylon Fusion is fine below waterline though, with numerous threads showing success.

Picked up a ATI 6x54w Sunpower with reflectors that looked like they were in a war. 1 fan also didnt work. Previous owner said he didnt use the acrylic shield as well. Which is probably why the fixture looked so bad. Without the shield the fans are useless and do nothing. Eventually heat buildup will kill them
I dont know why people pay so much money for the best in this hobby just to not take care of it.
Well I got a good deal and didnt mind putting a little money into it.

Took it apart and cleaned it up. New reflectors and a new fan to replace the dead one. Reassembled and good as new.

Fun day today.
First my ATO reservoir came in and it has a cracked drawer.
It is the innovative marine 15g reservoir.
So I need to wait on a new drawer. Marine depot is already on it.

Then in a leak test for the system I, well, found a leak.
90g filled and all was going well then when the sump was about halfway filled I noticed water coming from under the stand.
I rushed to shut everything down and grabbed some beach towels. Lost a few gal of water through a tiny hole in corner of sump. Genius me never tested sump for leaks.

Called petco and of course $1 per gal sale is done, but they will replace for me. Lucky me. Pulled the baffles and off to petco for a new breeder

So new sump in place, leak/plumbing check is all good. And starting to get equipment set up.
Apex EL in place and rolling.
Refugium light and reactors all good to go too.
ATO Reservoir installed(still need to mount ATO switch)
Cant really get a pic of the Apex. Its mounted on the back of the stand. With just enough wiggle room to do what needs to be done.
I had to make some adjustments to the overflow plumbing. Take came with the Aqueon megaflow plumbing, but it's just to loud. So I pulled that a made my own durso. Water going to the sump however sounded like a waterfall. So I had to make some adjustments and ended up setting up a reverse durso. I can still hear it. But the water is falling almost 4ft so it's kind of expected. But once it's up and running and gets a good slime coating it should quiet down a little more. When I get some time, I'll pull that and paint it black as well.

Getting closer

Still have to add sand but I'm leaning towards this. The sand that's in there is only enough to.cover the eggcrate I put under the rock work. I'll be adding a couple inches at most, maybe a little higher in the back.

Getting wet
Just adding straight from RODI filter.
I'll mix in salt tomorrow and cycle starts.

Just some updated shots while waiting on cycle to finish.
Unfortunately for my wallet I came across some great pieces of live rock that I added.
I wanted to avoid it because of price but I just couldnt pass on these pieces.
So the aquascape has changed and now I have a ton of rock sitting in the sump that I have to get out. But it's all good
Enjoy
