I got that CBB from Seascape maybe 2-3 months ago. Within the last month, it's really gotten a taste for all frozen and dry. Dude gets so excited at feeding time. That's when I took this shot. =PThe CBB in this one is cracking me up

Welp. I guess with each year comes a major tank issue.
I had a seam separate on the external overflow of my acrylic tank. This happened during maintenance. There was a jungle of aiptasia in my overflow and I was finally dealing with it! Thankfully it was less than a gallon that spilled on the floor.
The good news is my frag tank has a big sump, skimmer, 44g top off, 44g kalk reservoir and all the no3, po4, mag, and trace dosing it desires. My display however is completely cut off. Thankfully I have extra heaters and ranco controller. I may setup a kalk doser, not sure yet. Probably tomorrow. This will be the displays first night with a pH drop in 6 months! It's at 8.23 currently.
It's been suggested to me I can silicone the overflow as a temporary fix. But it sounds like I'll be finding out real soon how willing Advanced Acrylics will be to make this right.

dang man sorry to hear this. If you need anything let me know. I got some acrylic solvent on hande I can bring over tomorrow or if you need a doser or anything I got extras you can borrow

It was for sure a rush build. And yes I am questioning it's integrity now. I'd like to assume the tank is okay and it was just a rush to glue on the overflow. I don't know. It's all 1/2", except the back and bottom at 3/8". Back was custom because I had mp10s at the time. The tanks looks solid to me, but I am absolutely questioning every weld on the overflow.
There's a center divider in the overflow(not something I requested). I noticed many many months ago that it caused an outward bow. Maybe you can see it in the pics. I put a factory edge(straight) of acrylic next to it so it should be visible.
This is where the greatest degree of separation is at the seam.

I have this on hand. I would like to get this tank reconnected to my basement asap, but I also am concerned about being away from home starting Monday.
I got a fan blowing into the overflow tonight
The seam no doubt still has moisture. It had all sorts of crud in it as well, but I think i've gotten most of it out. Very difficult to thoroughly clean though.

Not sure yet. I would like to get a response from Advanced Acrylics before I do anything. But if that doesn't come soon enough, I will likely attempt some sort of fix.

Oof, I'm really sorry to hear about the seam separation. That's like near worst case scenario for this hobby. But very lucky to have discovered it while going about your regular maintenance (worst case turned decent case scenario, nice!) Hopefully AA does you right and fixes ASAP.
