Jingle bells cyphastrea base is white!

Picked this jingle bells up a couple of days ago. It was green and red in the bag, but after acclimation and Dipping in Bayer and adding to tank, within 12 hours it was covered in brown that I thought was related to my algae issue. I used my turkey baster and brown went away, but that was 3 days ago and it has been white on the base ever since. The larger
Red with orange dots was bought the same day from same tank at my go to lfs and had the same brown covering and went white for less than a day before returning to its normal color. Par at its location is about 115 to 125. Thanks for any help!

Any chance you're bleaching it? Can you check with where you got it what PAR they kept it at?
I am concerned about the brown covering it. Algae typically won't cover live tissue, only dead exposed skeleton.

I truly do not believe it is bleached because it was green in the bag and the first minutes in the tank and turned white after turkey basting it. And I noticed the polyps are reaching for light although they aren't opening yet. Should I give it a lugols bath, maybe?

Dipping an already stressed coral twice will probably have the opposite effect that you want! I would move it to a lower par location with enough flow to keep the detritus from settling on it.
