jmann's 75

I picked up another 75 with a DIY stand last Friday. I figured it might make the move easier if I had a tank set up and plumbed instead of having to break a tank down and set it back up after 4 hours on the road. I cleaned it up good and have it a vinegar bath and leak tested it. No leaks and aside from a few small old dried coralline spots, it's ready to go. The stand is ugly and needs a bigger door, but it can be sanded and painted and I can cut a bigger door for it. Here's some crappy pics of it sitting on my carport after cleaning.

Nice find! Looks like the FORD needs a bigger tank though. LOL

Thanx. It's going to come in handy. I just have to make myself use it for the transfer and not set up another tank. Although my wife said I could! Once I get moved and everything transferred over to the new 75 I may use my current 75 for an eel or some nonreef type fish.

Yea whatever!!! Once you go reef you never go back.lol

Well I got home from Knoxville this weekend to find that my female clown jumped ship. I've had my 2 clowns the longest, over a year. I've never seen anything from them to make
Me think they would jump. My hood is only open in the back and that's where she was, on the back of my stand. I guess when I move I'll be getting another small one.

Finally found a job in Knoxville. Starting on October 4th. Moving the tanks up this coming weekend.

The plan is to put a lot of my tank water in a big brute can with some rocks and air stone and the fish. Wrap the rest of the rocks in wet towels in a bucket. Place CB shrimp in a bucket alone and probably put the other shrimp and snails in with the fish. I'll leave enough water in the tank to cover the sand. Place corals in a bucket in layers separated by egg crate. I'm open to suggestions though. Should I replace the sand or clean it and reuse or what?

Congratz on the job!

I would not put the fish in a brute with rocks. they will get crushed.

Thanx for the heads up. I thought about that but figured I was lucky. I forgot I'm not lucky though. Another bucket for fish it is then.

Got everything moved in. Had a few losses. I guess sometimes that's par for the course. I am having a diatom issue, as was expected due to the new sand. I'm having an issue with white particles in the water column again. I put a sock on one of my drains to see if that helps. Planning to add an ATS. Just gotta figure out how to work it in since my sump is crowded already.

Its good to have everything moved though. I just moved and am just glad that part is over.
