This one's on my bucket list of acrosstarted a jolt growout/backup in my frag tank and it was looking good so took a picture. Its so much easier to get good pictures in a frag tank.
Happy new year everyone
Happy reefing in 2022!

definitely, looks great in full spectrum or under blues. and you don't have to go to extremes to get nice color out of it.This one's on my bucket list of acros
Awesome stuff, man!RMF Candyland, definitely different, it has been a slow grower for me but hopefully its getting ready to take off. everything in the tank seems to be , if alk consumption is any judge, and they are just looking happy![]()
Thanks!Awesome stuff, man!
, i think there's some money to be made .... What did you use as a dip? Thanks!
Unfortunately, i lost a lot of my larger colonies and some frags/grow outs during a power outage at the end of January (i think). I did learn a lot from it though, and made some adjustments to my back up plan, including a new larger, quieter generator and a wood stove will be installed this summer for back up heat.![]()
So, i'm in a bit of a rebuilding phase while i grow out some new colonies. In the meantime i will share some of the newer acros that survived the outage or i recently acquired. Small, but some cool stuff i'm excited about.
CC Pink highligher update: It survived the outage, but it did have some STN on the colony and i cut the top off to try and save it. I dipped it the section with the STN and they both survived so now i have two grow outs. It seems to be growing well. under blues

Mostly a iodine based dip, Reef Dip by seachem, i was also using polyp labs reef primer some. I'm not sure if the pink highlighter got both (separately, not mixed together) or just the Reef Dip. I was trying everything i had i thought might help stop the STN, and i had a lot of colonies and frags that were impacted. It doesn't always work, which is why i cut the top off first to try to save some. In my opinion it is always worth a try to stop a possible bacterial infection. i try to always have some iodine based dip on hand. I also use it when i frag fleshy corals to try and prevent an infection. What did you use as a dip?
RR USA Angry Birds
Two versions both sold as RR USA Angry Birds. I have heard a couple possible reasons for this, one theory is that RR USA lost the original then replaced it with a different one. The other is that TSA used to sell a different version than the one they do now. I don't know the truth of the matter and i suppose only RR USA or TSA does for sure but either way they are both very nice tenuis. can't wait for them to grow up. Keep in mind that i don't color them up as well as they do![]()

What can I feed for corals like aminos and things like that without the phosphates and nitrates boosting so highThanks, I don’t think I do anything really out of the ordinary. Good lighting and flow. Try to maintain some nitrate and phosphate with out letting them get too high. And I use some of the KZ products amino acid, flatworm stop, coral booster, and coral vitalizer, I think they help.
Every tank is different but I don’t find that amino acids or the coral vitalizer cause my nitrates or phosphates to be a problem. They are the only coral foods I feed. I think a lot of the phosphate in my system comes from fish foodWhat can I feed for corals like aminos and things like that without the phosphates and nitrates boosting so high
