Hi Everyone, so I just finished a custom stand with my neighbor. Super pumped and owe a big thanks for him helping me with the build, his knowledge, and awesome tools. I will add pics as the build moves forward.

Oh nice. How did you set up the drains? I am planning on the Herbie method.

Got the tank from a good friend who ended up bailing on the build due to space limitations.

Finally plumbed and time to add some sodium chloride high quality H2O!!

Great job! Looks good!

We have lift off!!!

Finally conducted a leak test, shimmed the unlevel areas of the tank with composite shims and added 3 different types of Tropical Eden sand (Reef flakes, Mini Flakes and aragsnow)!!! Let the cycling begin. Will add some live rock I have in a trash can.

Should have posted this sooner - A few days ago I made a few tweaks/adjustments to the Herbie overflow. It's now dead silent. It is so weird not hearing water draining to the sump.

Glorious Father's Day. We went and saw Finding Dory then I got to put my over four year old clownfish into the new system. Big thanks to my LFS for hanging onto them. I also put some of my rock and inverts they in a saltwater trash can for two months. 12 days for initial cycle....

Thanks for the kind words kschweer! I had to replace the emergency drain PVC and spa flex plumbing to silicone tubing. Having the ball valve lower down and a small amount of spa flex caused too much flex and the bulk head kept leaking.

3 weeks in today.

Some updates -I put the rest of my rock I had in. I'm looking to make a mound on the right. We'll see how it evolves. Big thanks to Timmy for the Tonga branch.[emoji1373]

It's been too long since I posted. It's week 7. I've battled bryopsis and got rid of it. I chose to use Kent tech M to get rid of it.

I've added more Rock and set up my GFO. I am dosing bacteria weekly and added a couple corals to see how things will do. I also added some fish that are doing great. Lost a yasha goby other than that things are stabilizing. Algae is almost gone from sand bed. Just have some weird fuzzy clearish algae on the rocks.

Looking really good. Are you not using a skimmer?

Vipertaj, sorry for the late response, I have a bubble magus curve 7. I like the skimmer a lot. It's easy to to take the cup off to clean, easy to take apart to clean l, and it's got a modest price tag.

Updated shots! Oh and hooked up my GFO. I also must say I am impressed with Dr. Tim's waste away. I'm using it as recommended (weekly) and shut my skimmer off for 24+ hours. It has helped clean up the sand bed of algae and detritus.
