This mushroom keeps evolving on me. Green, pink, purple and blue spots, plus some bubbling starting to develop. Sprinkles, the jawbreaker bounce mushroom, well, maybe not bounce, but who knows?

Well, the power just went out for a few minutes and my vectra/ecotech battery backup didn't work. It just flashed green and never moved any water. I have the booster cable connected and the pump set to lowest, but nothing happened. I'm not having much confidence in this backup plan. Good thing I have a propane genie ready to go. Ugh!

Today I lost one of my favorite fish, my beloved Tanaka pygmy wrasse. He was awesome to watch dart in and around the rocks looking for food. Always camera shy, but never shy enough to come out and hang with the big fish. He was always accepted by my clowns and never bullied by any other fish, in fact, I think every fish loved him, because they would let him swim wherever he wanted without issue.
It's funny, cuz I was just thinking that he's been with the clowns the longest, about 5 1/2 years, (which is pretty good with these guys) and that he was getting up there in age, but still looking good. He was out and about yesterday, but I don't recall seeing him this morning when I fed everyone? My guess, is he died while sleeping and the flow pushed him free, as I found him just now on one of my mp40's, kinda looked like food at first. Thank you for the hours of entertainment and the years that brought me so much joy.

Traded a bunch of forest fire digi to one of my LFS and got a couple nice frags. Two loripes and one plumcake.

Just a friendly reminder, don't chase numbers! Ugh! I wanted to bring down my PO4 a little and I put in too much media, but not all at once. I started off running some ROX carbon a couple weeks ago, but noticed a few sps darkening a bit and tested .28ppm of PO4, so I added some clear fx pro (60 gallon bag), then I added about 3tbsp of rowaphos a few days later. I noticed my pink milli turning more green (neon almost) and less PE and another green stag, which always looked funky, started to STN. Then yesterday or the day before, I noticed my pink milli losing flesh and peaking away. I removed all but two frags of the green stag, but can't really do anything about the milli. I removed all the media and kicked myself for putting in so much crap. This tank and my nano, never responded well to gfo, so why did I use it again? I was trying to achieve a ratio, which was my first mistake. My initial instinct was to not add anything and I went against it. :mad: I should've just stuck with the small amount of GAC and called it a day. Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!

Normally, you can't see the tissue color on this milli, other than the top, because of the crazy PE.
I also think that I might've been adding too much of my dailies from the reef moonshiners too? Either way I sent out an ICP last week, so I'll know for sure.

Thank you! It's funny, you would think after nearly 40+ years in the hobby that making mistakes are a thing of the past, but that's what happens when you second guess yourself. Time for a small water change and some PNS Probio. The saga continues.

I did the initial dose last week, then I dosed 10mL on Sunday, then 20mL yesterday after my water change and I think I'm going to do 10mL a day and see what happens? I also need to prune my chaeto once a week and keep the fuge clean. I think half of my phosphates are coming from the dense chaeto dying off and not being removed.

Oh yeah, I agree, the phosphate spike definitely could be coming from the decomposing macroalgae. Then I guess I'll also be interested in seeing if the addition of ProBio appears to help bring down the phosphate as well.

I just revamped my fuge a little, so hopefully things will clear up soon? I'll keep you posted on the PO4 levels.

Well, my first attempt at catching my foxface resulted in my filamented jumping out and massive dust cloud in the tank. Flasher wrasse is okay (his second time on the floor), so I'll try when the lights go out tonight. I did turn off the lights, which usually prompts my fish to go to their sleeping places, but too much daylight didn't help matters. That and I need a second net. Usually I'll use my other hand to direct the fish in the net, but that's a big no no with rabbit fish.

Picked up a couple more nice frags today from a semi-local reefer @Smite , RP ultra violet and shazam-ish acro.
Not the best pic, but it will have to do until I find good mounting spots.

Thanks! I'm in the process of kicking out the pieces I don't want and being really selective with what I'm adding, so I'm sure we'll be swapping pieces soon.

Well, it's been a crazy week in all regards, but I managed to catch my foxface. He's now in a 200+ gallon display and spreading his fins. He did an amazing job grazing, but he needed more room. Maybe now my phosphates will return to a semi normal range? The good thing is, I can always see him at my favorite LFS.
Now it's time to clean house and get rid of a bunch of pieces.
