Yeah I’m thinking birds nest are sensitive to coral warfare, it’s kind of close to a stunner. My ALK consumption hasn’t changed since I set this tank up. I’m using core7 at 20ml a day. I’ve heard other people are using a lot more.

I maybe in trouble. No water changes this year and my dosing pumps are empty. ALK 4.6, Calcium 386, phosphate 0.89, No3 0.0.

hi,just gradually increase alk and cal, tank looks great,
po 4 ok by me, but need to get no3 up.
add a lil bit of skimmate in to bump it up,say shot glass full per 100 gal ,and monitor.WIWD... :)

I don’t have a skimmer or any filters. I do have some Cyanobacteria growing I wonder if it’s eating the nitrogen? I still have lots of fishes and feed them daily.
What do you think about just changing out five gallons twice a day till I get the ALK back to normal without adding No3?

yes, feed them a little heavier , water changes will work , just watch cal rising faster than alk... ;)
if you hit 500 cal, stop ,add alk buffer, to get back to your # your tank likes
you have a lot of consumption with the stunners...:)

The corals and fish seem to like the daily water changes. My numbers haven’t changed much. I’m going to add some ALK buffers and Cal.

@fishguy242 so far I’ve done two 5 gallons WC every day and numbers haven’t changed much. I do have another 30 gallons ready to go. Would a 30 gallon WC be too much of a change? Remember this is the first WC’s of this year. And my Cyano problem isn’t going away maybe even getting worse.

larger changes will help raise alk ,but also cal too.
i would think stick to 10 gallon changes ,and slowly keep bumping alk up.
not to change too much too fast,

Woke up this morning to a bacterial bloom and a fishy smell.
