Is this something I should be concerned about? my Titanium heater seems to have one heck of a swing. I am having some die off of corals and I am starting to think this might be part of the cause. I am watching the tank closely, I have a similar swing in PH which I am waiting for tubing to come in so I can run my skimmer air feed outdoors. I am currently not dosing because there isn't a ton of load, and I am in the process of getting my new calcium reactor online. I will post parameters tonight when I get all the readings done again. I was out of some reagents. I am looking at my lighting as a possible cause, I will post my radion graph keep in mind I have 36" depth on the tank and 8 radion gen 1's

The weirder part about this is acans, duncans, and stylophora are doing amazing, I can't seem to get acros to be colorful or live... and I am losing plates and blastos? Help?!?

I would add another heater to try and get the swing within a degree. I highly doubt ur radions are contributing that much to ur temp. And ur ph if it's above 7.9 don't go chaising numbers that should be good enough

For your other questions I need a couple answers how long has it been running? How much live rock would u say u have it doesn't look like much but that could just be an optical illusion on a tank this big but u might not have enough benifical bacteria yet to house corals.

This tank was done nicely what criticism were u worried about I think it was done very nicely

Thank you! Sometimes people can be cruel on the interweb and I post here for help and constructive criticism so I was just concerned. The tank has been up over a year, I just have not been posting here. There is in excess of 1000 lbs of rock in the system between the fuge and the display, It was dead rock and the tank was cycled over a year ago with dr tims fishless and it cycled nicely. It has a 185 gallon fuge now full of macro algae. My radion concern is not temperature related, but more if I am starving the corals of light, or burning them. I had a very nice hammer die also which I forgot to mention... I am also running a biopellet reactor. I have seeded the tank with tons of pods and critters not that that matters much in this particular string of questions... hope this helps you guys help me! thanks in advance

Ok do you have access to a par meter? What depth is your tank? @locito277 might be able to help with ur lighting issues his tank is deep and he uses radions:

Also mike paletta just did an article how he things dead rock cause his corals to die might want to google that it was a good read. And this forum for the most part is filled with nice people trying to help not bash u

36" tall. The dead rock method insures no unwanted critters, would suck if it is causing issues. But like I said getting great growth out of some things and total death with others, I want to take it to the next level and start growing out some across but I have little to no success with them and I don't know what I'm doing wrong!
 
You could send in for a Triton ICP test just to get a baseline of your parameters and make sure there isn't a chemical issue. Then start focusing on the rest of the system.

As for the temp swings, that is fine. It is changing over the course of an entire day. As another person said, the pH is fine. You may want to consider stray voltage, but take it one item at a time. Maybe send for the Triton test first, verify it's not undesirable levels of chemicals, then take it from there.
 
So a few things I picked up from your post. I have a 700 gallon sps tank setup with kessil 360's. You say your sps are not doing well what is happening?

In my experience radions tend to lack PUR when you get into deep tanks.
I had a similar experience where I was have acro's and monti's brown out on me.
I ended up doing a Radion with 4 hours of T5 supplement and that solved my problem.

Ok guys really loving all your input so I'm going to keep it going just tested everything calcium is at 450 dkh is at 9.52 phosphate is at 0 and magnesium is at 1420 to try and respond to all of your questions. I've been thinking about buying the apex pat meter any input? Since they are gen 1 radions I assume your all going to tell me I need something different wether it be halides all the way through to t5 supplement, I am hoping to not have to spend more now but.... it happens I guess as far as a triton test. I have sent my water out to aquarium water testing . Com and they say there isn't anything crazy as far as chemicals in the tank. Stray electricity is doubtful as everything in the tank is relatively new and there are only 4 power heads that aren't vortechs in the system... to address the what is happening questions I'll show a few photos but it's mostly browned out acros and dead plate and open brain corals while frogspawn and torch directly next to them are flourishing. Stylophora are doing well... I need help I guess because some of your tanks are truly stunning and I want to achieve this

It is a type of tile I bought from someone in Florida, if your interested I can get you the name but I also have a lot of extra if you want to cover shipping I would gladly send it to you as I am out of uses for it. I got the idea from the give away tank at 2015 macna

This is my office tank with no testing just water changes and radions also... why am I struggling here and so successful there?
