Josh's 34g Half-Moon Reef

Hey all, new member to R2R, but I've been rockin' my reef since early 2005. Everything unfortunately died during Hurricane Ike, but the tragedy allowed me to rethink on where I wanted to take it. I'm much happier with my tank this time around and will soon be upgrading to something 150g or bigger this summer.

Actually I've been vodka and vitamin-c dosing and have extremely little film algae on the glass any more. But yes, when I do need to clean it the curved glass makes it somewhat of a challenge.

Went to Texas Marine Aquarists Conference and scored some great pieces, although my tank is in a horrible disarray (there's no point in my arranging them artfully when I'm moving in less than a month) and I need an upgrade badly.

I have to say, you really scored a super fantastic monti collection, all look very healthy and extremely nice specimens. Very nice, im stoked and near speechless, awesome pickups!

Well it looks like you got some great pieces Josh. I was stuck on Bolivar and Galveston Island working.... It wasn't that long ago that your tank was still bare from Ike and now its time for an upgrade I won't be to far behind you in the upgrade department.

Thanks Matt. Work comes first, its the same way with my company, that's why its taken 3 months for us to trade frags even though we live 30 minutes away lol. Man I just realized that CherryCorals had a nice piece of Bryan's Baby chalice for cheap, I should of grabbed it. There will be another show soon enough (hopefully fall at latest) and I'll have a bigger tank and cashflow :tongue:

Some old Zoanthids that are actually Mohawks! Regaining color in higher light now xD

Tank is so cluttered, I'm not gonna organize it until I get my new tank soon, it'd just be a wasted effort

Also almost forgot to mention, my ORA Red Planet is FINALLY turning back the same colors as when I got it (Bright green and Pink) and has absolutely INSANE polyp extension.
