Juan's 300+ Gallon Apartment Tank

Here some goodies from BRS, still missing some items which are on the way. (Reactors, GFO, Carbon, etc).

I bought this three chamber dosing container from Fishstreet, it's really nice and will serve great for dosing Alk, Cal and Mg.

And bought a new Refractometer:

Still missing an order from BRS, I bought

1. BRS Jumbo Reactor for GFO
2. BRS Biopellets
3. BRS High quality reactor for ROX Carbon
4. BRS GFO
5. BRS Rox Carbon
6. Eheim Vaccum cleaner (I'm eager to try this one out, lol).

A up to date of the tank.

At some point I decided to remove the MP60's as they were too noisy for my living room, my prior system had a fishroom so no concern of the noise there but here, it was a pain, mostly at night. I decided to go with a Maxpect Gyre 150W, it's a really nice pump that pushes lots of water. Still need to test it well when corals are sitting on the rocks.

The system has been running 86 days now, this is not my first system but my first time with a very complicated cycle.
When added ammonia, I think I went well over it and raised it above 10ppm, the tank took to cycle 80 days to be exact.
Last Sunday the tank finished it cycle and now it's ready to begin receiving its inhabitants.

Tank parameters as of yesterday:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 50
Temp: 24C
Salinity: 1.023
Ph: 8.2

Alk: NA
Calcium: NA
Mg: NA

Here are some latest shots, as you can see, the system is going through its initial ugly stage:

That is absolutely incredible!!

As a last test, I introduced 1ppm ammonia to the tank today morning, we'll see how the system handles it within 24 hours.

Beautiful build, and gorgeous apartment! Did you have to get any special permissions for such a large tank? I know many reefers have issues with landlords over tank size. Also did you have to add any structural support? I'm just picturing the conversation asking the downstairs neighbors to add some floor Jacks in the middle if their living room hahaha

Wow! Amazing build!!!

I'm still wrapping my head around that much water in an apartment but you did your due diligence.
Looking forward to seeing more!

What an amazing thread, I can't wait to see more! And as @ReefQueen said your apartment and tank are beautiful!! What do you plan to stock it with? Do you have any pictures of your 1000 gal? PLEASE keep posting. :)

Very nice build! A few turbo snails will clean that cycle algae right up. ;)
