Jumbo media reactor as a refugium on AIO?

Hi there!

I'm brainstorming ideas for adding enough refugium to my AIO reef without adding a sump - LIKE THIS ONE. Seems like it would have more room than the small chamber on my IM fusion 30L, with the added benefit of a little more water volume as well.

I'm thinking I could put a small pump on it,, plumb it to one side of the return, slap a light to on the outside of the clear body, and fill it with chaeto. I have a place in a cabinet behind my tank where I could mount it at tank level.


Bad idea?

if you go to home depot they have 20 inch versions if you have the space and doing it might as well get as much as you can.
