Jump guard/cover

Anybody have any ideas on the best way to construct a cover for my tank. I have seen the DD jumpguards and will resort to one if needs be but i have a few cut outs to make for equipement so proves even more expensive. Any DIY options you have used and any details greatly appreciated. Thanx
