Hey everyone! I just joined up to the forums, as ive decided to take my dive into the world of saltwater aquariums! Ive been doing some research on what ill need to get so i can maintain a nano reef in a 20 high tank, but any input at all is greatly appreciated! Im determined to make this a lifelong hobby, and hopefully a business someday! But weve all got to start somewhere, so here i am! So far, ive decided to try my hand at these organisms for this tank:

Bubbletip anemone
2 True Percula Clowns
Longnose Hawkfish (very excited for this guy!)
Possibly 2 Banggai Cardinals?
Emerald Crab ( Im a huge crustacean freak, i have a 10 gallon with Rainbow Land crabs and Fiddlers)

Ive been told ill need to add some hermit crabs to the cleanup crew with this setup, and ill have to get bigger ones so the hawkfish doesnt eat them.

Anyways, its awsome to be here, and i hope to get really involved in the forums when i have the time :)

Oh, and ill be using polyp corals for this tank. Knew i forgot something lol.

Welcome to R2R! Any idea as to the equipment side of the tank? Are you going to do a sump?

I actually dont quite understand what a sump is yet. Could you explain :)

*Welcome to Reef2Reef!* A sump is another tank connected to your display tank.Usually it is located directly below your main tank. A sump will increase the water volume, house equipment, live rock and macro algae.I use mine to hold fish that would be disruptive to my main display.

Welcome!! Thanks for joining the forum and taking the leap! You will never leave muahahahah :D I recommend doing as much research as possible, watching youtube vids, looking at google images on different setups and most of all posted any and all questions you have. There are some amazingly helpful and knowledgeable people on this forum. There are different areas within the forum for different questions too. I highly recommend looking at other people's setups to get ideas for equipment and plumbing, etc. Be sure to start a tank thread!

Thank you very much everyone for the information and welcomes! I will make sure to start a tank thread as soon as i start picking up the supplies :)

welcome to the forum and the hobby! looking forward to seeing your progress. I like your fish list.
