Jumping from Current USA IC Pro to AI Prime HD16

I'm about to ditch my Current USA IC Pro Loop on my 36 gallon bow front mixed reef for x2 AI Primes16HD's. Have no SPS yet but have super slow growth on my softies and LPS's. Planning on running David Saxby profile. Any suggestions on the wattage on my size tank for this schedule?
Also been reading a bit of horror stories about AI Primes and their APP.

I think it is going to be a matter of preference. I have not heard about the app issues, so can’t really say anything about that. I say preference just because both of those lights have gotten results. I would go with primes on a somewhat simulated ecotech AB+, but there’s so many options out there it does get overwhelming.

I switched from the same lights to 2x AI prime about 2 weeks ago on my IM 40 and couldn’t be happier. Took the David Saxby profile and just switched up the timing on the schedule to suit my needs. Tank is only a few months old, but the few corals I have so far look much better (color) and you can tell the primes are significantly more powerful. Growth has improved lately as well but could be attributed to other changes (parameters, increased flow). Have had zero issues with the app. Recently got a nero pump as well which I love so definitely a fan of AI products so far. Hope this helps.

Exactly what I want to get is x2 Primes and run the Saxby profile. Did you have to tone down the overall intensity any? Also did you have any issues with the app finding the lights when you were setting up for the first time?

Zero issues with the app finding the lights. Really simple setup actually. I did not reduce the intensity on the Saxby profile at all. It actually looks to be quite less than what BRS recommended on a recent review they did of these lights. I had to use two fingers to be able to drag the entire profile to the left to set the start and end times that I was looking for. I also used their acclimation mode. Rasta zoas seem to be the only thing they may be too intense for at the moment but waiting to see if they adjust before possibly moving them.

Thanks. My Primes are on their way. Hopefully it will smooth as it was for you. My Current USA were OK I guess for softies and LPS but I want to get into SPS and after having to replace the lights once and my eflux wavemakers 3 times in less than 2 years I think it's best to move on from Current USA.

Just replaced 2 current orbit marine if with 1 kessil a360x. I'm happier already myself. Still in search of a good schedule for my tank. But I do have something thrown together for now...

I have the Primes and added Saxby's schedule. I would like to add 2 hours of moonlight after the end of his schedule but dont see the add button anywhere. Do you know by any chance why? Am I doing something wrong?

I believe you use the edit button while on the time node that you want to add.

The edit button disappears when I scroll to a time that doesn't have an existing node to edit. I want to add more nodes.

No not at all. Stays like the first screen shot without the edit button. That's why I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong.

When I drag to a time that has no mode I dont get the add or edit buttons as shown. Am I missing something or is this normal?

Incase anyone of you is curious about me not being able to add more nodes to a preset it looks like is Saxby's preset file only. For some odd reason its only that profile I cannot add to. Other ones are fine. I'll just have to recreate that one from scratch.

Had something odd happen. A couple of days ago my lights started turning on/off at a different time than the schedule. I tried taking the Saxby profile and moving the times again which yielded the same results. I had to create it from scratch and all is good now. Figured I’d share.
