Hello there, I'm Isaac and I have a habit of getting in over my head. So that's what I've come here to do. This is the very first forum I have ever joined in my life. Not that I don't have things to say or that I'm shy about it. I've just always preferred personal interaction over digital. But the times are changing and so am I.

I jumped into the deep end of the hobby around 5 years ago. I met this girl you see, already a seasoned professional working in aquarium services. Me, I've never had an aquarium of any kind or knew anything about them. I'm a electronic technician by trade, I repair a wide range of electronic. If it plugs into the wall... I'm your man.

Cue the Fish Guy. Eventually I meet her boss who owns the LFS. Says he has some busted lights, want to see if I could fix them. Manufacturer said they were dead after troubleshooting. Bypass dead LED, replace a couple resistors......let there be light. Fish Guy is very pleased, pays me and says he may call me again.

Fast forward a few months and working at the LFS is my side job. Cleaning, fixing, caring, testing, tank services, installations. I went from having no tanks to helping manage over a dozen. All the skills and habits from my profession easily transferred over, and I learned some new ones too.

The hobby ended up causing one of the largest changes in life. I was in complete wonder once coral was truly explained to me for the first time. I live land locked, I've never seen the ocean. To me the reef was what movies or pop culture made it out to be. But once I really started looking and watching, caring for these beautiful creatures. It awoke in me a passion I thought I had lost to the daily grind.

Today I'm more passionate about coral reefs than I've been about anything. I'm lucky enough to have a job caring for a 1000 gal reef exhibit. I try and get kids just as excited and in wonder of the reef as I am. I do still have to fix stuff every know and then haha. That's what's brought me here.

An influential person in my life said, if you want to aquire knowledge you must give it away. I want to pass on any skills, knowledge, and experience I have come to rely on. Maybe I can help some people jumping in the deep end. And hopefully learn a thing or two from everyone else here.

Restful reefing everyone.
