As I said very new to this I have a 125 gallon tank have been working on it for about 2 weeks got RO system tank is full I've got 40 lb of live rock 120 lb of live sand I know I need more rock my gravity is at 1.021 p h 8.0 + No2 + no.3 at 0 is it safe to go ahead and start adding fish or should I wait to add more rock

Have you cycled the tank? Are you running a sump? If so you could get away with out adding more rock to the DT.

It can take 6 to 8 weeks to cycle a tank. I would be hesitant to add fish already. Have to started adding nitrifying bacteria.

It's been running for about two and a half days and this is where it gets confusing to me is people tell me because of the live sand is set in the other that it should be good to go but I don't believe everything I hear all I'm thinking about doing it this point is probably putting in a couple sand sifters and see how they do I'm not ready to go full-blown yet

And again this is where I'm trying to be patient I would love to see something moving in the tank but you know I can wait

And here is what I'm talking about I hear the song I see some every thread every this I'm not trying to sell or anything I'm just trying to build a personal home tank without getting completely crazy very curious about this sump

And please be patient with me I'm just still trying to figure out how to navigate through this forum

Not sure what you are talking about. The tank will cycle. If you add fish before that happens then it will cycle with them.

Good luck

If you have live rock and sand you have bacteria all ready in the rock. You can add a small fish or 2. Watch for ammonia and be ready for a water change if you start to see ammonia climb because we dont know how much bacteria is in that rock.
I would ask what salinity the fish are kept at you are getting so you can match your QT tank to that. (if you are going to QT them).

before you start stocking your tank I strongly suggest you binge watch cycling a tank on BRS. It's true you have a good start with live sand and rock. I would add a little more rock and let it cycle too. You can also work on your aquascape.

If I could do it over again I would let my tank run 4 months without lights and without any livestock - just rocks. Set it and forget it. Also 1.21 sounds a little low. Usually people aim for 1.23 for fish only and 1.25 for corals.

Okay so what I am starting to get a patient finish my rocks let my tank run for a month or two and then go from there

Yep that's why I'm here I don't know what I'm talkin about either

If you add fish right away you will get an NH3 spike and most likely dead fish. Live rock and sand will help speed things up and can even minimize the spike.

That is something that nobody is told me and I read your article that you put there for me to read and I see it and I will do that thank you very much for your time and patience

You can add nitrifying bacteria to your tank to help out the cycle process. You can use Instant Ocean bacteria. Petco sells it for about $10.
