Junior's Monster Tank Build

Man what I would give to get my coral grubbing hands in that tank... :D

Awesome set up bro!

nice

however my Journeyman Master electrician would have a heart attack if he saw that wiring OVER the top of that water. Course he has a heart attack when I put one small wrinkle that you cant see with the normal human eye in a piece of conduit.

lol, my Uncle was a Master Electrician, he would be having a coronary.

That was VERY temporary.

Now everything is safer than safe.

Marv,

The bulbs look great, that light fixture is just plain awesome.

Well, i worked on the tank from 9 am till about 2 am this morning, and its almost done.

I have the entire old system shut down, drained, and waiting to move up and out.

Just a couple odds and ends, a couple reactors to clean and re-plumb, and it will be all done...

scary thing is I leave for 3 days tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn....

hope by then i have any issues worked out.

My 50 breeder top-off reservoir should do the trick...I only wish i had the NET module hooked up on my RKE before i left, but thanks to ATT that wont be happening.

Great job Paul? Let me know when I can stop by and check it out.

for sure...needless to say the basement looks like a war zone :snicker:

Hopefully in a couple weeks everything will start coloring back up, but they are already eating aggressively, which is great, because they werent in the old setup anymore.

Ill hopefully get some more pics tonight.

Very nice, did u ended up getting the BK skimmer, I have the 300 internal but that 400 was a monster, also for that price it was a steal, I paid almost the same for my 300.

i passed on the 400 after talking to a few friends that have used the 400 internal.

I will be upgrading to the 300 external with the RDII pump before i tie in the 300 display and the larger sump in.

Very nice tank build and I love the dimensions. I have a 270g same FP just 24'' tall. If yu don't mind here is some pics of my DT.

cycling your tank with damsels is not RECOMMENDED.

As for the "safe" way to wire your stuff well that all depends on your definition of what you consider safe....

either way tank looks nice.

Just an update.

I was away for a long weekend and had to leave the new tank.

Before I left i hooked up the RKE, and the Tunze Osmolator w/50 gallon breeder top off reservoir. Lights were also hung, and a large filter sock was added.

Had my friend Knuckles (thanks again Dave) come by and check on it a couple times.

When i got back late last night i had a few minutes before the lights went off, and WOW...everything is looking fantastic.

I havent seen my corals that happy in a long time...

As far as the tank goes, it all seems to be working as designed. Other than a little dyno around the PVC where the acrylic sits on top, nothing is really giving me a reason to be concerned.

5 days, not even a speck of ditritus ANYWHERE....hope this keeps up...

more pics hopefully tonight.

No problem, anytime.
That tank is sweet. Really love the plumbing jog.
Definitely no lack of flow in that tank
