Hello everyone,

So I have a few questions I would like some feedback on.

First off...here are my paramaters.
Temp : 78-81
Amm : 0
Nitrite : 0
Nitrate : ~7
PH : 8.1
Alk : 7.5
Lights : 120 pro's from reef radiance set at 60% white's ect...and 45% Blues at peek times.

#1: My cleaner shrimp molted last night but has only been in the tank less then a week and heard they can molt from stress....good or bad? Also should I try and get his molt out of the tank or just let it be. It would be a little difficult to get out.

#2: I'm a little worried about my clean up crew not having enough to eat. I have no more diatoms on my sand and most of my rock is dry rock with little algae on them. About 35 lbs of dry and 8 lbs live in DT. I have been putting some Hikari seaweed extreme in the tank but I dont think the snails are getting much of it....except for the 4 zombie snails. I have 10 snails total in my tank which is 51 gallons with a 25 gallon sump. Problem?

#3: Looking at getting something new for the tank. Which would you get first? Apex 8bar system or another vortech mp10? I have one now running at 80% but have a dead spot which waste is accumulating.

#4: Is the temp swing that I have at night a problem? It seems it dips to 77.9 and goes as high as 81.1 during the day.

That is all I can think of at the moment and I really appreciate any and all help.

Thanks,

Aaron

1 we never pull sheds, haven't had a problem. We have a good protein skimmer, that would be the only precaution I would recommend here.

2 there are other things you can do to compensate, such as seperate a rock in your fuge if you have one and let it get furry. I don't know if they have enough to eat, it's hard to assess.

3 have you tried adjusting the angle?

4 depending on how sensitive your critters, it could be. stable is always better.

Thanks for the response.

Have a skimmer rated for a 125 gallon so should be ok there. I have tried to adjust the position of the mp10 but that is the one downside to having an mp10 you can adjust the angle unfortunately. Only problem is I cannot fix a bigger heater in my sump. I have one 150W heater the dang skimmer took up more room then I expected.

Thanks again.
