Lets not be dirty folks!!!

Well I had a customer call me and ask if I built benches.... I sure let me swing by and take a look.

Well come to find out.... It wasn't benches that you sit on!?!

I am super excited about this build. Can you guess what it is?

@Paul B and @Chasmodes Just figured you guys would enjoy

Just the base is going to be about 320 sq. ft.

We are going to be adding a trolley track about two ft. above the train tracks and a small train set around the ceiling. All in all I think we are at about 600 ft. of track between everything this is going to be fun!!

I wish... Maybe, some stuff got lost in transit when they moved from Florida. She has most of the scenery (the buildings and stuff). I may make some fences and railings for the upper tracks. The lightest engine she has is about 25lbs.

I think were are also going to do some stone work on it for the station and a couple tunnels. We will see!!

I have finished for now until she unpacks everything to see what she has.

Nice! I recently dug out my old Märklin set that has been in storage for 20 years. I would like to set it up again but Mrs. Retro isn’t to thrilled with the idea :D

Chocolate, ice cream, and the note book. Keep her distracted and put it together. She will like it after it is put together!!

Well , you asked for it :) , here is my reeftank+terrarium+n scale layout in progress. It’s still in very early phase .

I live in a small apartment, hence space is really limited. It’s based on a 2x4 playwood. And then cut in 4 pieces for ease of transportation.

The tank is a 5.5 g pico, and will be above a hill below which there will be a tunnel. This is the first time I’m attempting to build a layout , very new to mode railroading .
I got only the foam sheets glued currently on one of the 4 parts, and some rock faces done (woodland scenics hydrocal plaster based )

Next will be covering the foam with plaster and fixing the rocks against them ... long way to go, but I’m excited. Here is my helper

I plan to control the whole thing (terrarium , reef tank and the n scale locomotive +various other things on the layout) with reef-pi

Look awesome bud!!

Keep that boy programming... may need him in a couple of years lol.

Please keep us updated.

Are you doing the programming or just sourcing online?
What will it be controlling?

If you have any questions or get stuck don't be afraid to ask. I may be like talking to a bucket of shrimp, but there are plenty intelligent people on this site.

I’ll use my opensource software /hardware for control. I’ll control train speed /direction, signals , building lights etc other the reef tank (standard controls, like light, ato, temp etc )

Are you going to upload what you come up with? Can you link to the code?

I have done a bunch of research not any real world experience building anything yet...soon. I have to many projects going on as it is!! Lol

Yes, I am going to use as much reef-pi as possible. Currently most of the things I can think of can be done by light, equipment or macros... but if I absolutely have to i’ll write some new code to support it.
