Hi my name is Paul. I spent four years in Palermo, Sicily (college) where I took up scuba and have been in love with saltwater since. I found this site by accident about a month ago and have spent the last month literally enjoying every ones set ups. I've had fresh water aquariums for roughly 30 years now. I ventured into saltwater a little over 20 years ago using what I was told at the time, the smallest saltwater setup available. A 33 gallon hex aquarium with some live rock, coral and several fish. Setup not much different than my freshwater setup. At the time I believe I spent a small fortune on fish, live rock and corals as the rocks and corals literally wouldn't last very long. Had a small mishap with salt corrosion nearly causing a fire in the middle of the night at which point I tore down the salt and went back to fresh. That was roughly 18 years ago. I was thinking about possibly starting a new one but I have to tell you I'M REALLY nervous! The setups are so much more complicated with sump tanks, T5 lighting and only god knows what else.
Thanks,
Paul
Thanks,
Paul
