Just a teeny rant

Ok so I went to my lfs today and asked the manager while I was there if I brought in some frags if I could get store credit for them. He said possibly and only if they didn't have any aptasia or algae on them. None of my corals have any of that on them. But many of the corals and frags they sell have aptasia and even cyano on them! Am I the only one who thinks this is at least a little messed up?

Well if you do buy from them dip away they don't care becouse they only keep the coral a few weeks befor selling it they just need it to survive long enough to be sold that's why you need to find a good family oriented place or a buddy

I have a LFS in my area that told me they dont want anything brown.They have no room to talk.I drive 2 hours each way every other week to get to an awesome LFS that appreciates my business and treats me with respect.

Yes, that is very frustrating. We have a LFS owner here that can't even be bothered to put his book down or look up and greet you when you walk in. He lost our business the first time we went there (7 years ago) I hear people complain about him still, not sure how he stays open. We drive 30 min to an hour to get to the ones that treat us well

I only buy dry goods from this place now because my 10 gallon is full to the max. I just thought it was hypocritical of him to say that to me. But it is his business and he will not be getting mine anymore when it comes to livestock. I am hoping I will find better service when I move to El Paso TX.

I have been friends with several LFS in my area and I have noticed that people will just expect the stores to take the stuff they don't want anymore, even crappy looking stuff.
I don't blame them at all when they refuse corals or fish. Espescially those 10" tangs people end up with when they out grow the tanks they live in, in our homes.
The lfs owners have enough problems with aptasias, majanos, algae, red bugs, nudibranchs, etc. coming from their wholesalers. So they really don't need ours.
