Just Added Fish

hi patience keep on testing for stability..n
hi welcome to the reef going to love it here!!
lots of fun/info/fun/help/fun....

i would wait on coral ,fish good, old school cycle, should do meet n greet ,meet the reef, start a build thread, nows the time

I was told to put all the fish you want in way before you add corals. This lets the tank establish the required level of bacteria. Fish should be added in levels of aggression - the 'most' going in last. I have three Electric Blue Damsels and they don't cause anyone any problems - in fact their 'brave' personalities encouraged all the other fish to swim about the tank. However, they haven't reached full adult size yet so I hope I haven't spoken too soon!

Patience is the key in this hobby. Rushing can only cause suffering, both to your livestock, parameters, wallet and morale

Damsels can be nasty fish and I'll always avoid them (well bar a pair of clown fish). If you want a peaceful reef then i would recommend taking them out or at the minimum add near the end once the more docile fish have been added and got themselves accustomed/settled to the tank

Keep testing the water and continue to research the corals you would like including their requirements (placement, lighting, water flow etc) and whether any fish you want may take a liking to them (eat/nibble them).

My tank is 13 weeks old and I only start adding the hardier corals after 6-7 weeks, knowing for a fact that my parameters were spot on even after adding a few fish. I started with a GSP isolated on an island rock.

In that time you can decide on what type of corals you would like (Softies, LPS and or SPS) as each come with differing challenges for example dosing alk, calc and mag plus the possibility of target feeding.

Good luck and happy reefing

Hi, welcome yes give a little more time like others have suggested now certain damsels are aggressive I personally have four two bright blue two velvet blue 4 years down the line they squabble between themselves but leave the other fish alone. Yes do a little research on what fish you want you haven’t mentioned what size tank you’ve got certain fish have to be put in depending on their aggressiveness like Mark Bradley mentioned, especially if you are looking to have Tangs
